You may well have heard all the buzz online about the attacks on WordPress security. Unfortunately this is no joke, and it needs to be taken very seriously, or all you've built could be hijacked or worse, lost to you.
Install the fix wordpress malware protection Firewall Plugin. Quit and this plugin investigates requests to recognize attacks that are most obvious.
Use strong passwords - Do what you can to use a password, alpha-numeric. Easy to remember passwords are easy to guess!
Exclude pages - This plugin provides a checkbox,"include this page in menus", which is checked by default. If you uncheck it, the page won't appear in any listings of webpages (which contains, and is usually this link limited to, your page navigation menus).
Note that you should only try this last step for new installations. If you would like to do it for existing installations, you will also have to change of the table names within the database.
However, I recommend that you set up the Login LockDown plugin go to these guys instead of any.htaccess controls. From being allowed after three failed login attempts from a specific IP address for one hour login requests will stop. You may still get into your admin panel whilst and yet you have great protection against hackers if you do that.
